Summary of Duties:
Performs skilled work in cleaning and preparing metal and other surfaces on materials and equipment for painting and in applying enamels, lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxies with spray guns and other painting equipment and keeps equipment clean; masks and protects materials not to be painted or coated, and does related work. Keeps work areas organized and clean, conducts safe work practices, communicates with coworkers and supervisors, maintains inventory of supplies and materials required for workflow. Disassembles and assembles equipment, moves materials into inventory, helps to pack and ship materials. Assists with materials handling, inventory, and transportation. Assists with cutting, preparing, and fabricating materials.
Core Skills:
• REQUIRED Experience in industrial equipment painting
• REQUIRED Experience with 2-part catalyzed paints and coatings such as polyurethane
• REQUIRED Experience wet painting using an HVLP gravity feed spray gun
• Experience in various methods of cleaning and preparing materials
• Experience using grinders, sanders
• Experience using drill motors, drill presses
• Experience using hand tools and power tools
• Ability to operate an enclosed spray booth
• Ability to differentiate between colors
• Ability to work on multiple priorities with frequent interruptions
• Ability to drive a forklift
• Ability to drive a tow vehicle with an attached trailer
• Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment
• Ability to work with all levels of employees
• Strong communication skills
License:
A valid California driver’s license is required.
Physical Requirements:
Strength to perform average lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 70 pounds; the agility, equilibrium and coordination as required when climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and balancing under precarious conditions; arm, hand and finger dexterity with at least one hand involved in reaching, handling, fingering and feeling; good eyesight and color perception. Summary of Duties:
To accomplish their primary goal of creating and welding metal parts and assemblies, Welders/Metal Fabricators perform many tasks. Understand engineering blueprints, requirements and plans to know exactly what is required of any project. Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures. Operate cutting saws, shears, press brakes, and other fabrication machinery to cut various metals, and weld and grind fabricated structures to meet structural requirements. Operate welding equipment, sanders, grinders, and other fabrication machinery. Perform detailed quality checks to ensure that it meets all standards and requirements, document work and results, and keep records of labor and materials used. Keeps work areas organized and clean, conducts safe work practices, communicates with coworkers and supervisors, maintains inventory of supplies and materials required for work flow. Disassembles and assembles equipment, moves materials into inventory, helps to pack and ship materials. Assists with materials handling, inventory, and transportation. Assists with cutting, preparing, and fabricating materials.
Core Skills:
- Experience in reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, sketches and other technical instructions
- Experience with troubleshooting equipment problems and design conflicts
- Experience in welding techniques including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, Oxy-Acetylene
- Experience with plasma cutting and Oxy-Acetylene cutting
- Experience in various methods of cleaning and preparing materials
- Experience in fixturing materials and fabrication of fixtures
- Experience using press brakes, nibblers, notchers
- Experience using saws, shears, grinders, sanders
- Experience using drill motors, drill presses
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read and write English technical instructions
- Ability to work on multiple priorities with frequent interruptions
- Ability to drive a forklift
- Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment
- Ability to work with all levels of employees
- Strong communication skills
License:
AWS or equivalent certification
